「手話」を目の見えない人に伝えるため試行錯誤する人たちの姿を捉えたドキュメンタリー。日本で唯一のユニバーサルシアターである東京都北区の映画館シネマ・チュプキ・タバタ。全ての上映作品に音声ガイドと字幕をつけている同館で、耳の聴こえない人に演劇を楽しんでもらおうと奮闘する3人の舞台手話通訳者を記録したドキュメンタリー作品を上映することに。その映像を目の見えない人にも伝えるため、個性豊かなメンバーたちによる「音声ガイド」づくりがスタートする。舞台手話通訳者たちの思いはいつしか音声ガイドづくりのメンバーたちの思いと重なり合い、言語や障がいの有無を超えて心のバトンをつないでいく。監督は「＜片隅＞たちと生きる 監督・片渕須直の仕事」の山田礼於。
A documentary capturing people's efforts to convey sign language to those who cannot see. At Cinema Chupki Tabata in Tokyo's Kita Ward, Japan's only universal theater, all screenings include audio guides and subtitles. This documentary records three stage sign language interpreters striving to make theater enjoyable for deaf people. To convey this footage to visually impaired people, a group of unique members begins creating an "audio guide." The thoughts of the stage sign language interpreters eventually overlap with those of the audio guide creators, connecting hearts beyond language and disability. The director is Reo Yamada of "Living in the Margins: The Work of Director Sunao Katabuchi."
