「ビデオアートの父」と称される現代美術家ナム・ジュン・パイクのドキュメンタリー。 アートとテクノロジーの境界を破壊し、インターネットが普及するはるか前にデジタル社会の到来を予見したナム・ジュン・パイク。彼が遺したパフォーマンス映像や手記など膨大なアーカイブ資料をひもときながら、韓国から日本、ドイツ、アメリカへと渡り歩いた人生と、先駆的な活動やビジョンに迫る。人々の想像を超える彼のアートがどのように当時の大衆文化と交差していったのかを描くとともに、彼の人生を変えた前衛音楽家ジョン・ケージとの出会い、ヨーゼフ・ボイスやシャーロット・モーマンとの過激なコラボレーションなど、1960～70年代にかけてのパフォーマンス・アートのムーブメントとの深い関わりを浮き彫りにしていく。 坂本龍一がテーマ音楽を手がけ、「ミナリ」「バーニング 劇場版」の俳優スティーブン・ユァンが手記の朗読を担当。特集上映企画「パフォーマンス・アート：身体と空間をめぐる映画祭」（2026年8月1日～、ユーロスペースほか全国順次公開）にて日本初公開。
A documentary about Nam June Paik, the contemporary artist known as the 'father of video art'. Nam June Paik destroyed the boundaries between art and technology, foreseeing the arrival of the digital society long before the internet became widespread. The film unravels his life journey from Korea to Japan, Germany, and the United States, as well as his pioneering activities and vision, by exploring a vast archive of materials including his performance videos and writings. It depicts how his art, which surpassed people's imagination, intersected with the popular culture of the time, and highlights his deep involvement with the performance art movement of the 1960s and 1970s, including his life-changing encounter with avant-garde musician John Cage and radical collaborations with Joseph Beuys and Charlotte Moorman. Ryuichi Sakamoto composed the theme music, and Steven Yeun, the actor from 'Minari' and 'Burning', narrates the writings. The film will have its Japanese premiere as part of the special screening project 'Performance Art: A Film Festival Around Body and Space' (starting August 1, 2026, at Eurospace and other theaters nationwide).
