A documentary focusing on the theme of "life strategies," examining how life forms adapt by changing themselves in response to their environment. Tardigrades survive extreme environments. The Okinawa ruby goby changes sex within its society. Ginkgo biloba creates a "sea" within its seeds to nurture swimming sperm. These life forms have persisted by employing strategies of self-transformation in tune with their surroundings. This feature-length film weaves together three subjects into a single narrative, revealing their quiet wisdom. It integrates the short documentary "The Space Bears 4 Ever: Life Strategies"—which records the daily lives, feeding, molting, reproduction, and cryptobiosis of three species of tardigrades living in moss on roadsides in Tokyo and Chiba—with two other short documentaries produced by the same team (cinematography by Tsuneya Taniguchi, directed by Yuki Suzuki, produced by Kazuo Okada): "Sex Change: Society and Sex Reversal in the Okinawa Ruby Goby" and "The Sea Within the Seed: Ginkgo Sperm and the Reproductive Evolution of Plants."
