The planet Solaris is covered in ocean and clouds, with no confirmed signs of life. Yet scientists believe the ocean of Solaris possesses intelligence and have repeatedly attempted contact, but failed. The space station falls into chaos, and communication with Earth is lost. When psychologist Kris is sent to investigate, he is confronted by the corpse of a friend and his wife, who committed suicide. Moreover, the two remaining scientists are terrified of something...
