The 12th production of the 2012-13 season of "MET Live in HD," which screens performances from New York's Metropolitan Opera in movie theaters just weeks after they are staged. This production presents Handel's masterpiece opera depicting the encounter between Cleopatra, Queen of Ancient Egypt, and the Roman general Caesar, through David McVicar's bold staging that relocates the setting to 19th-century England. The lavish pairing of Natalie Dessay, hailed as one of the world's greatest sopranos, and renowned countertenor David Daniels is a highlight.
