中国戦線で軍医から故郷の牧場を託された3人は、閉鎖を企む高利貸しから牧場を守ろうと従業員一同と奮闘する。国家総動員法成立と同年の公開で、銃後の意識の啓発を企図して製作された。生産の場を働く者たちの共同体として捉え、資本の脅威に対抗するさまが、社会主義的とも評された『麦秋』（キング・ヴィダー、1934）も彷彿とさせ興味深い。本作でデビューの江波和子は、高利貸しの社長令嬢であるヒロインを演じている。
Three men entrusted with their hometown ranch by an army doctor on the China front struggle alongside all the employees to protect the ranch from a moneylender plotting to shut it down. Released in the same year the National Mobilization Law was enacted, it was produced with the intent of raising home-front awareness. It is fascinating how the production site is conceived as a community of workers resisting the threat of capital, evoking King Vidor's Our Daily Bread (1934), which was also described as socialist. Kazuko Enami, making her debut in this film, plays the heroine, the daughter of the moneylender company's president.
