A documentary that quietly observes people confronting inherited pain through the lens of war trauma. In recent years, the fact that many returning soldiers suffered from severe PTSD has increasingly come to light. The deep scars etched into their hearts are sometimes passed down to children and grandchildren in the form of domestic violence or addiction, leading to the breakdown of family relationships. The film follows three individuals: a woman who grew up suffering severe abuse from her father and went on to abuse her own daughter; a man whose childhood memories of his veteran father’s verbal abuse toward his mother left deep scars that eventually led to violence against his own wife; and a woman who developed complex PTSD due to abuse from her mother—who was devoted to a new religious movement—and who continues to struggle with her relationship with her own daughter. As the investigation delves into the roots of the "difficulty in living" shared by these three, a common thread emerges: their fathers or grandfathers all served in the war. The film is directed by Hyoma Shimada, who has documented individuals striving to stand on their own feet while being at the mercy of massive forces like war and national division in works such as "I'm Just Going to North Korea for a Bit" and "Live, Live, Live." The music was composed by Takashi Watanabe, known for "The Great Passage."
