「奈緒ちゃん」シリーズや「PascaLs しあわせのようなもの」などのドキュメンタリー作品で知られる映像作家・伊勢真一が、ニューヨークを舞台にミュージシャン・詩人の友部正人の長い旅をつづったヒューマンドキュメンタリー。 1950年に東京で生まれた友部正人は、高校卒業後に名古屋の路上で歌いはじめ、72年にアルバム「大阪へやって来た」でレコードデビュー。これまでに26枚のオリジナルアルバムをリリースし、詩集やエッセイ集も数多く発表してきた。 本作は、友部と30年来の友人である伊勢監督が、約10年前にニューヨークで暮らしていた友部に会いに行ったことをきっかけに撮影を開始。コトバを探して長い旅を続ける友部のとりとめのない時間を拾い集め、彼の歌や詩とともにスクリーンに映し出す。
Filmmaker Shinichi Ise, known for documentary works such as the "Nao-chan" series and "PascaLs: Something Like Happiness," presents a human documentary chronicling the long journey of musician and poet Masato Tomobe in New York. Born in Tokyo in 1950, Tomobe began singing on the streets of Nagoya after graduating high school and made his recording debut in 1972 with the album "Osaka e Yatte Kita" (I've Come to Osaka). To date, he has released 26 original albums and published numerous collections of poetry and essays. Filming for this project began about ten years ago when Director Ise, a friend of Tomobe for 30 years, went to visit him while he was living in New York. The film gathers the unstructured moments of Tomobe’s ongoing journey in search of words, bringing them to the screen alongside his songs and poetry.
