A children's film set against the backdrop of children's association activities in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, depicting the resilience and vulnerability of boys and girls living in the postwar era. Through activities such as mountain climbing and puppet theater-making, the children learn to think for themselves and develop social skills while cooperating with one another. Produced by MOM Production, an independent production company founded in 1960 by Tadahito Mochinaga, Torizo Matsumoto, Hidenosuke Omura, and others, Kimura vividly captures the children's free-spirited energy and their process of growth.
