演歌歌手の丘みどりが映画初主演を務め、48歳にして演歌歌手の道を歩みはじめた女性の奮闘を描くヒューマンドラマ。 静岡の商店街に暮らす48歳の高橋良子は、乾物屋の女将として家族を支えながら平穏な日々を送ってきた。そんなある日、盆踊りの会場で披露した彼女の歌声が観客の涙を誘い、名プロデューサー・ポール北沢の目にとまる。夢をつかむチャンスを手にした良子は、家族の幸せを守りたい気持ちと、胸の奥で長年眠っていた「歌いたい」という想いの間で揺れ動きながらも、一歩ずつ前進していく。しかし夢が大きくなるにつれて夫・菊雄との距離は変化し、家族のかたちも揺らぎはじめる。 「ばあばは、だいじょうぶ」「キセキの葉書」などのジャッキー・ウー監督がメガホンをとり、夢を追う者の光と影、家族との絆、歌がもつ力を丁寧に描き出す。良子の才能を見抜くポール北沢役で川﨑麻世、良子の夫・菊雄役で俳優としても活躍するお笑い芸人のアキラ100％、良子のライバルとなるスナックのママ・大阪美雪役で田中美奈子が共演。大物演歌歌手・大関一郎役で鳥羽一郎が特別出演。
Enka singer Midori Oka makes her film debut as the lead, portraying a woman who begins walking the path of an enka singer at age 48 in this human drama. Yoshiko Takahashi, 48, lives in a shopping street in Shizuoka, supporting her family as the proprietress of a dried goods shop while living peaceful days. One day, her singing voice, revealed at a bon dance venue, moves the audience to tears and catches the eye of renowned producer Paul Kitazawa. With a chance to grasp her dream in hand, Yoshiko wavers between her desire to protect her family's happiness and the long-dormant wish to sing deep in her heart, yet she advances step by step. However, as her dream grows larger, her distance from her husband Kikuo changes, and the shape of her family begins to waver. Director Jackie Wu, known for "Grandma Is Fine" and "The Miracle Postcard," helms the film, carefully depicting the light and shadow of those who chase dreams, family bonds, and the power of song. Mayo Kawasaki plays Paul Kitazawa, who recognizes Yoshiko's talent; comedian Akira 100%, who is also active as an actor, plays Yoshiko's husband Kikuo; and Minako Tanaka plays Osaka Miyuki, the mama of a snack bar who becomes Yoshiko's rival. Enka star Ichiro Toba makes a special appearance as the big-name enka singer Ichiro Ozeki.
