レンタル家族という一見風変わりなサービスを通じて、登場人物たちが「演じること」と「本音」のあいだで揺れ動きながら、やがて心を通わせていく姿を描く。孤独を抱える現代人と家族のかたちを問いかけるヒューマンドラマ。 東京の会社に勤務する坂本洋子は、仕事で多忙な日々を送りつつ、定期的に実家へ帰省し、父・忠勝とともに認知症の母・千恵子のケアをしている。千恵子の症状は近頃進行が速く、洋子が数年前に離婚したことも忘れ、帰省のたびに元夫や娘のことを尋ねてくる。そんなある日、洋子は取引先の担当者から、「レンタル家族」というサービスを紹介され、体験利用を勧められる。最初は戸惑った洋子だっがたが、レンタル夫を家事代行として自宅に呼ぶことにする。派遣されたレンタル夫・松下豪と馬が合った洋子は、千恵子のことを松下に相談。すると松下は、自分を夫、知り合いの子役・安田朱里を娘として、家族を演じることを提案する。 主演は、劇団「青年座」所属で舞台、映画、ドラマ、CMと幅広く活躍する荻野友里。監督はテレビ番組やCMの制作等を経て、自主映画として手がけた本作で初監督を務めた上坂龍之介。第23回中之島映画祭でグランプリを受賞。

Through the seemingly eccentric service of a rental family, the characters waver between 'acting' and 'true feelings,' eventually opening their hearts to one another. This human drama questions the nature of family and modern loneliness. Yoko Sakamoto, an office worker in Tokyo, leads a busy life but regularly returns to her hometown to care for her father Tadakatsu and her mother Chieko, who has dementia. Chieko's symptoms have been progressing rapidly, and she has forgotten that Yoko divorced years ago, asking about her ex-husband and daughter each visit. One day, a business contact introduces Yoko to a 'rental family' service and suggests she try it. Initially hesitant, Yoko decides to hire a rental husband as a housekeeper. She hits it off with the rental husband, Takeshi Matsushita, and confides in him about Chieko. Takeshi proposes that they play the roles of husband and daughter, with him as the husband and his acquaintance, child actress Akari Yasuda, as the daughter. Starring Yuri Ogino, a member of the theatrical company 'Seinenza' active in stage, film, TV, and commercials. Directed by Ryunosuke Uesaka, making his directorial debut with this independent film after working on TV programs and commercials. It won the Grand Prix at the 23rd Nakanoshima Film Festival.
