A documentary about Kino Laika, a cinema created by Finnish master Aki Kaurismäki and his colleagues. In the Finnish steel town of Karkkila, Kaurismäki and his friends brought to life the town's first movie theater, Kino Laika. In this town, surrounded by deep forests and lakes, with only a now-disused iron foundry, the residents are filled with anticipation for the cinema and begin to talk passionately about movies. The film captures the process leading up to Kaurismäki and his co-owner, writer Mika Lätti, opening the cinema in 2021, along with their interviews. It also shows Kaurismäki himself diligently working on the interior and installing signs. The female duo Maustetytöt (who appeared in "Fallen Leaves"), Nuppu Koivu, Simon Hussein Al-Bazoon (both from "The Other Side of Hope"), and his close friend Jim Jarmusch also appear, sharing their memories of Kaurismäki and their thoughts on cinema.
