内藤剛志が主演を務める、BS日テレのオリジナル2時間サスペンスドラマシリーズ「旅人検視官 道場修作」。定年退職した元警視庁検視官・道場修作（みちば・しゅうさく）が、亡き妻の雑記帳を手にして訪れる旅先で事件に遭遇し、その真相に迫る姿を描く旅情サスペンスの人気シリーズを初めて映画化した劇場版。 定年退職後、元警視庁検視官の道場修作は、亡き妻の雑記帳を手に日本各地を旅している。愛媛県の松山や内子を訪れた彼は、俳句を愛する人々と出会い、穏やかな時間を過ごすはずだった。しかし、その地には20年前に起きた未解決事件の影が落ちていた。断片的な記憶や人々の思いが交錯するなか、道場は過去と現在をつなぐ真実へと近づいていく。 主人公・道場を内藤剛志が引き続き演じ、羽田美智子、石黒賢、柄本明、里見浩太朗ら実力派キャストが共演。さらに、ドラマシリーズでは登場がなかった道場の亡き妻・由美子役を南果歩が演じ、これまで多くが語られてこなかった道場の過去にも焦点が当てられる。監督はドラマシリーズ第6弾を手がけた兼﨑涼介。
The first film adaptation of the popular travel suspense series "Traveling Forensic Examiner: Shusaku Michiba," a BS Nippon TV original two-hour suspense drama starring Takeshi Naito. The story follows Shusaku Michiba, a retired former Metropolitan Police Department forensic examiner, who encounters incidents during his travels while holding his late wife's notebook, and delves into the truth. After retiring, former forensic examiner Shusaku Michiba travels across Japan with his late wife's notebook. Visiting Matsuyama and Uchiko in Ehime Prefecture, he meets people who love haiku and expects to spend a peaceful time. However, the shadow of an unsolved case from 20 years ago hangs over the area. As fragmented memories and people's feelings intertwine, Michiba draws closer to the truth that connects the past and present. Takeshi Naito reprises his role as the protagonist Michiba, joined by a talented cast including Machiko Hada, Ken Ishiguro, Akira Emoto, and Kotaro Satomi. Additionally, Kaho Minami plays Michiba's late wife Yumiko, a character who did not appear in the TV series, shedding light on Michiba's largely untold past. Directed by Ryosuke Kanezaki, who also directed the sixth installment of the TV series.
