勇気をもって声をあげた性暴力サバイバーたちの闘いを5年にわたり記録したドキュメンタリー。 2019年、日本各地で相次いで出された4件の性犯罪の無罪判決。女性が抵抗できない状況にあったと認めながらも「同意したと勘違いしていた」「女性による明確な抵抗がなかった」「抵抗できたはずなのにしなかった」など、加害者に有利な判決が繰り返された。性暴力の被害者がないがしろにされ続ける状況を「これ以上見過ごすことはできない」と立ち上がった人々は、自らの悲しみや怒り、苦しみについて自分の言葉で語りはじめる。実父からの性加害によるトラウマやPTSDに苦しむ女性たち、職場での度重なるセクハラに抗うことができなかったシングルマザー、制度の想定からこぼれ落ちてきた性的マイノリティの人々の被害、男性の被害者など、それまで言葉にされることのなかった現実が少しずつ共有され、全国へ拡大していく。その声は大きなうねりとなり、2023年の刑法改正へと社会を動かすことになる。 監督は、数多くのテレビドキュメンタリーを手がけてきた濱地咲季。2019年から性犯罪に関する刑法改正に取り組む人々を取材してきた濱地監督が、ドキュメンタリー番組の放送を経て、闘いの記録を長編映画として残すことを決意し、さらに取材を重ねて本作を完成させた。
A documentary recording the five-year struggle of sexual violence survivors who courageously raised their voices. In 2019, four acquittals in sexual crime cases were handed down one after another across Japan. Despite acknowledging that the women were in situations where they could not resist, the courts repeatedly delivered verdicts favorable to the perpetrators, citing reasons such as 'the perpetrator mistakenly believed there was consent,' 'there was no clear resistance from the woman,' or 'she could have resisted but didn't.' People who could no longer tolerate the ongoing disregard for sexual violence victims stood up and began to speak about their sadness, anger, and suffering in their own words. The realities that had never been put into words—such as women suffering from trauma and PTSD due to sexual abuse by their biological fathers, a single mother unable to fight against repeated sexual harassment at work, the victimization of sexual minorities overlooked by the system, and male victims—gradually became shared and spread nationwide. Their voices swelled into a major movement, driving society to amend the Penal Code in 2023. The director is Saki Hamachi, who has worked on numerous television documentaries. After producing a documentary program on the subject, Director Hamachi, who had been covering people working on the Penal Code reform for sexual crimes since 2019, decided to preserve the record of the struggle as a feature film, conducting further interviews to complete this work.
