恋に奥手な私立探偵が調査の過程でひとりの女性にほれてしまう姿を通して、人間の愚かさを描いたコメディ・エンタテインメント。俳優であり、監督として短編映画も手がけてきた山口改が、監督・脚本・編集・主演を務めた。 私立探偵の鈴谷は、逃げ出したペットの捜索や不倫調査などを請け負っていた。ある日、奇妙な依頼を受けた鈴谷は調査を進めるが、不可解な行動をとる友人や能天気な上司、そして「玲子」という名の女性の抗えない魅力に翻弄されていく。 タイトルに含まれる「キャトルミューティ」は、UFOに連れ去られたとされる家畜が内臓や血を失った状態で発見される怪現象「キャトルミューティレーション」から取られている。劇場未公開ながら勢いがある作品を日替わりで上映するイベント「CINEMA JAM vol.1」（2025年8月16～22日＝東京・K's cinema）で上映された16本の作品の中から最高得点で観客賞を受賞。これにより、東京・菊川のミニシアター「Stranger」での単独劇場公開の権利を獲得し、2025年9月にStrangerで公開された。2026年8月には、K's cinemaほかにて全国順次公開。
A comedy entertainment that depicts human foolishness through the figure of a private detective, shy in love, who falls for a woman during an investigation. Arata Yamaguchi, an actor who has also directed short films, serves as director, screenwriter, editor, and lead actor. Private detective Suzuya takes on jobs such as searching for runaway pets and investigating infidelity. One day, Suzuya receives a strange request and proceeds with the investigation, but is toyed with by a friend behaving inexplicably, a carefree boss, and the irresistible charm of a woman named Reiko. The "Cattle Mutilation" in the title is taken from the strange phenomenon "cattle mutilation," in which livestock believed to have been taken by UFOs are found with their internal organs and blood removed. Although never theatrically released, it won the Audience Award with the highest score among the 16 films screened at the event "CINEMA JAM vol.1" (August 16-22, 2025, at K's cinema in Tokyo), which screened energetic works on a daily rotation. This earned it the right to a solo theatrical release at the mini theater "Stranger" in Kikukawa, Tokyo, where it was released in September 2025. In August 2026, it will be released sequentially nationwide at K's cinema and other venues.
