An ambitious work based on the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid," incorporating romantic elements to raise the target age range from the traditional witch girl series. Character design was handled by Shinya Takahashi, and director Yugo Serikawa's direction fills Mako's daily life with the lyricism of a melodrama tinged with tragedy. 48 episodes total.
