「ブラジルの声」 と呼ばれ、同世代のジルベルト・ジル、カエターノ・ヴェローゾ、シコ・ブアルキらと共にMPB（ボサノヴァ以降のブラジル・ポピュラー・ミュージック）をリードし、海外の数多くの音楽家とも共演してきた、ミルトン・ナシメント。愛称ビトゥーカ。80歳を迎えた2022年、ステージからの引退を発表し、行なった世界規模のフェアウェル・コンサート・ツアーを追いながら、ミルトンの人生と音楽を浮き彫りにしたドキュメンタリー・フィルムだ。前半、ミルトン一座は欧米諸国をツアーし、各国で熱狂的に迎えられる。パット・メセニー、スパイク・リー、クインシー・ジョーンズ、ウェイン・ショーターらがミルトンを語り、エスペランサ・スポルディング、ハービー・ハンコックとの共演シーンもある。ミルトンは、養子として育った少年時代を振り返り、旅先で自身の養子と会話し、恩人の歌手エリス・レジーナとの思い出を語る。後半は、ミルトンのホーム、音楽の原点であるブラジル内陸の高原地帯、ミナスジェライス州の風景から始まる。シコ、カエターノ、ジルらの友人たち、マルシオ・ボルジェス、ホナウド・バストスといった共作者の詩人たち、ミルトンを敬愛する年下の音楽家たちが、ミルトンの音楽の魅力を語り、深部を解き明かす。人種差別、1964年から20年続いたブラジルの軍事独裁政権といった、避けては通れない負の歴史も明かされる。そして、フェアウェル・コンサートのファイナル、ミナス州都ベロオリゾンチのサッカースタジアム「ミネイラォン」でのコンサートが近づく。1972年の名盤のタイトルであり、ミルトンを軸とするミナスの音楽家ファミリーの名でもある『クルビ・ダ・エスキーナ（街角のクラブ）』の仲間たち、ロー・ボルジェス、ベト・ゲヂス、ヴァギネル・チゾ、トニーニョ・オルタが秘話を語り、共演する。
Called the 'Voice of Brazil,' Milton Nascimento, affectionately known as Bituca, led MPB (Brazilian popular music post-bossa nova) alongside contemporaries Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Chico Buarque, and collaborated with countless international musicians. This documentary film traces Milton's life and music while following his global farewell concert tour, announced upon turning 80 in 2022. In the first half, Milton's troupe tours Europe and the Americas, receiving ecstatic welcomes. Pat Metheny, Spike Lee, Quincy Jones, and Wayne Shorter speak about Milton, and there are scenes of collaboration with Esperanza Spalding and Herbie Hancock. Milton reflects on his childhood raised as an adopted son, converses with his own adopted child on the road, and shares memories of his benefactor, singer Elis Regina. The second half begins with the landscapes of Minas Gerais, the highland region of inland Brazil that is Milton's home and musical origin. Friends like Chico, Caetano, and Gil, collaborating poets like Márcio Borges and Ronaldo Bastos, and younger musicians who admire Milton, discuss the appeal and depths of his music. Inescapable negative histories, such as racism and Brazil's 20-year military dictatorship starting in 1964, are also revealed. Then, the farewell concert finale approaches: the concert at Mineirão, the football stadium in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. Members of Clube da Esquina (Corner Club), the title of a landmark 1972 album and the name for the family of Minas musicians centered around Milton—Lô Borges, Beto Guedes, Wagner Tiso, and Toninho Horta—share behind-the-scenes stories and perform together.
