キン肉星の王子、キン肉マンが悪の超人たちとプロレスで戦うTVアニメの劇場版5作目。東映太秦映画村に突如降った雷により、キン肉マンは江戸時代にタイムスリップ、姫を救うため朱天童子と正義超人たちが対決する。監督はシリーズ中盤のシリーズディレクターも務めた川田武範で、時代劇ネタを詰め込んだコメディ色が強い作品。
The fifth theatrical film of the TV anime in which Kinnikuman, prince of Kinniku Planet, battles evil choujins in pro wrestling. When lightning suddenly strikes Toei Uzumasa Movie Village, Kinnikuman time-travels to the Edo period, and to save a princess, he and the Seigi Choujins face off against Shuten Doji. Directed by Takenori Kawata, who also served as series director in the middle of the series, this work is heavy on comedy packed with period drama gags.
