お転婆なヒロイン像やライバル魔女の登場など「魔女っ子」ものの転換点となった作品。荒木伸吾デザインのスラリとしたキャラクター、土田勇によるヨーロッパ風の街並み、恋多きメグなど、企画時の「綺麗に可愛く小粋に」のスローガンが実現されている。原作のひろみプロ、演出の坂口尚など虫プロの人材も合流した。最終回、メグを別離に追い込む芹川有吾の演出が見事。全72話。
A work that marked a turning point in the "witch girl" genre, featuring a tomboyish heroine and the introduction of a rival witch. The sleek character designs by Shingo Araki, the European-style cityscapes by Isamu Tsuchida, and the romance-filled Meg all realized the planning slogan of "beautiful, cute, and chic." Talent from Mushi Production, including the original creator Hiromi Pro and director Susumu Sakaguchi, also joined the project. The final episode, directed by Yugo Serikawa, masterfully drives Meg into a heartbreaking farewell. 72 episodes total.
