Set against the urban backdrop of Brooklyn and the forests of Upstate New York, this four-chapter tale is woven with poetic imagery that blends daily life, memory, and fantasy. Adnan, a young art student, arrives in Brooklyn for the summer to housesit at his uncle’s sophisticated residence. He begins an internship at a gallery, only to discover that the featured works are by an eccentric embroidery artist he encountered the previous summer. As past and present intersect, a series of encounters between sensuality and creativity begin to blur the contours of Adnan’s reality. Written, directed, and edited by Lucio Castro—an up-and-coming Argentine filmmaker and fashion designer based in New York—the film draws inspiration from the work of American embroidery artist Sal Salandra, known for depicting humorous sexual motifs through traditional needlepoint. The film is peppered with vibrant, playful imagery of embroidery art throughout. The title, *Drunk Noodle*, refers to the Thai dish Pad Kee Mao; one theory behind the name is that its intense spiciness is enough to sober up a drunk.
