OVAはTV放送が難しい暴力描写や際どいセリフの受け皿にもなり、当時大流行していた不良マンガにとって格好のメディアだった。ブームの筆頭で、ハードでありながらギャグも徹底した痛快な青春活劇である本作は、OVAでは他校との抗争を中心としたエピソードが選ばれている。キャラクターデザインは羽山淳一。ジェームス藤木による楽曲群も絶品だ。
The OVA served as a vessel for violent depictions and risqué dialogue that were difficult to air on TV, making it an ideal medium for the delinquent manga that were hugely popular at the time. This work, at the forefront of the boom—a thrilling youth action piece that was hard-hitting yet thoroughly comedic—selected episodes centered on conflicts with other schools for its OVA release. Character designs were by Junichi Hayama. The musical tracks by James Fujiki are also exquisite.
