父親と2人で過ごした夏休みを、20年後、その時の父親と同じ年齢になった娘の視点からつづり、当時は知らなかった父親の新たな一面を見いだしていく姿を描いたヒューマンドラマ。 11歳の夏休み、思春期のソフィは、離れて暮らす31歳の父親カラムとともにトルコのひなびたリゾート地にやってきた。まぶしい太陽の下、カラムが入手したビデオカメラを互いに向け合い、2人は親密な時間を過ごす。20年後、当時のカラムと同じ年齢になったソフィは、その時に撮影した懐かしい映像を振り返り、大好きだった父との記憶をよみがえらてゆく。 テレビドラマ「ノーマル・ピープル」でブレイクしたポール・メスカルが愛情深くも繊細な父親カラムを演じ、第95回アカデミー主演男優賞にノミネート。ソフィ役はオーディションで選ばれた新人フランキー・コリオ。監督・脚本はこれが長編デビューとなる、スコットランド出身の新星シャーロット・ウェルズ。

A human drama that recounts a summer vacation spent with a father, 20 years later from the perspective of the daughter who has now reached the same age her father was then, as she discovers a new side of her father she never knew at the time. During the summer when she was 11, adolescent Sophie visits a rustic Turkish resort with her 31-year-old father Calum, from whom she lives apart. Under the blazing sun, they point a video camera Calum obtained at each other, spending intimate time together. 20 years later, Sophie, now the same age as Calum was then, looks back at the nostalgic footage shot at that time, reviving memories of her beloved father. Paul Mescal, who broke out with the TV drama "Normal People," plays the loving yet sensitive father Calum, earning a nomination for the 95th Academy Award for Best Actor. The role of Sophie is played by newcomer Frankie Corio, selected through auditions. The director and screenwriter is Scottish newcomer Charlotte Wells, making her feature-length debut with this film.
