「少林サッカー」のチャウ・シンチーが監督・脚本・製作・主演を務め、1970年代のカンフー映画へのオマージュ満載で描いたアクションコメディ。悪が横行する時代。強さに憧れるチンピラ青年シンは、街を牛耳る極悪犯罪組織・斧頭会の名を騙って貧困地区のアパートで悪事を働こうとするが失敗。シンが悔し紛れに放った爆竹が偶然通りかかった斧頭会幹部に直撃し、斧頭会と住民たちは一触即発の状態に陥ってしまう。ところが住民たちの中にカンフーの達人がおり、押し寄せた斧頭会の軍勢をたった3人で撃退。激怒した斧頭会のボスは、最強の刺客たちをアパートへ送り込む。シンは彼らの戦いに巻き込まれるうちに、自身の中に眠っていた力を目覚めさせていく。

A wuxia fantasy action film directed by Taiwanese director Giddens Ko of 'The Secrets in the Lattice' and 'You Are the Apple of My Eye,' starring Ko Chen-tung, who collaborated with Ko on those two previous films. Director Giddens Ko, also active as a novelist, adapts his own internet-published novel 'Kung Fu' for the screen, weaving in homages to Hong Kong and Taiwanese wuxia films from the 1980s and 90s throughout. Underachieving high school student Yuan Zai and his best friend A Yi encounter a mysterious drifter, Huang Jun, who has awakened from a 500-year slumber. Witnessing Huang Jun's overwhelming martial arts prowess as a kung fu master, Yuan Zai and A Yi become his disciples. Their classmate Yi Jing, on whom Yuan Zai has a secret crush, also joins their training. They soon learn of the centuries-old feud between Huang Jun and his junior disciple Lan Jin, and uncover a momentous secret hidden within 'kung fu' that could shake heaven and earth. Ko Chen-tung plays Yuan Zai, Berant Zhu of 'Black Education' plays A Yi, Wang Jing of 'The Secrets in the Lattice' and 'The Return of the Condor Heroes' plays Yi Jing, veteran actor Tai Li-len plays the mysterious kung fu master Huang Jun, and Liu Kuan-ting of 'The Girl Who Robbed Time' plays Huang Jun's nemesis Lan Jin.
