ポーランドにおけるディストピアSFの先駆者ピョトル・シュルキン監督が1970年代末～80年代の社会主義体制時代に当局の厳しい検閲をくぐり抜けながら制作し、腐敗した権力と官僚制のもとで生きる人間の悲惨な姿を、強烈な風刺と超現実主義の極致ともいえる作風で描いた暗黒SF4作品のうちの1作。 巨大宇宙ステーションに囚われた男は、他の囚人と同様に、遠く離れた惑星の探査にボランティアとして参加させられる。オーストラリア458惑星に着陸した彼は英雄として歓迎されるが、自由には高い代償が伴うことに気づく。男の暴力的な生活は、惑星で暮らす人々の楽しみのため生中継されていた。 日本では2026年開催の特集上映企画「ポーランド暗黒SF≪文明の終焉4部作≫」（26年2月21日～、シアター・イメージフォーラム）にて劇場初公開。

One of four dark sci-fi works by Piotr Szulkin, a pioneer of dystopian science fiction in Poland, created under the strict censorship of the socialist regime in the late 1970s and 1980s. With a style blending fierce satire and extreme surrealism, the film depicts the miserable existence of people living under corrupt power and bureaucracy. A man trapped on a giant space station is forced, like other prisoners, to volunteer for exploration of a distant planet. Landing on Planet Australia 458, he is welcomed as a hero, but soon realizes that freedom comes at a high price. His violent life is broadcast live for the entertainment of the planet's inhabitants. The film had its Japanese theatrical premiere in 2026 as part of the special screening series "Polish Dark Sci-Fi: The End of Civilization Tetralogy" (starting February 21, 2026, at Theater Image Forum).
