平凡な主婦の日常を描いた「ジャンヌ・ディエルマン　ブリュッセル1080、コメルス河畔通り23番地」で映画界に革命を起こしたベルギー出身の女性監督シャンタル・アケルマンが、1970年代ニューヨークの風景をとらえた映像とともに母からの手紙を朗読したドキュメンタリー。 路地、大通りを走る車、駅のホームで電車を待つ人たち、地下道などニューヨークの荒涼とした街並みに、母の愛情に満ちた言葉を朗読するアケルマン監督の声を重ねることで、都会における疎外感と遠く離れた家族との距離を浮き彫りにする。 日本では「シャンタル・アケルマン映画祭2023」（2023年4月7～27日、ヒューマントラストシネマ渋谷）にて劇場初公開（「街をぶっ飛ばせ」と併映）。

A documentary by Belgian director Chantal Akerman, who revolutionized cinema with 'Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles,' a portrait of an ordinary housewife's daily routine. In this film, she reads letters from her mother over footage capturing the landscapes of 1970s New York. By layering her mother's affectionate words over the bleak cityscapes of New York—alleyways, cars on avenues, people waiting for trains on station platforms, and underground passages—the film highlights the alienation of urban life and the distance from family far away. In Japan, it received its theatrical premiere at the 'Chantal Akerman Film Festival 2023' (April 7–27, 2023, Human Trust Cinema Shibuya), screened together with 'Saute ma ville.'
