「ブランカニエベス」で知られるスペインのパブロ・ベルヘル監督が初めて手がけた長編アニメーション映画。アメリカの作家サラ・バロンによる同名グラフィックノベルを原作に、擬人化された動物たちが暮らす1980年代ニューヨークで犬とロボットが織りなす友情を、セリフやナレーションなしで描く。 ニューヨーク、マンハッタン。深い孤独を抱えるドッグは自分の友人にするためにロボットを作り、友情を深めていく。夏になるとドッグとロボットは海水浴へ出かけるが、ロボットが錆びついて動けなくなってしまう。どうにかロボットを修理しようとするドッグだったが、海水浴場はロボットを置いたままシーズンオフで閉鎖され、2人は離ればなれになってしまう。 2024年・第96回アカデミー賞で長編アニメーション賞にノミネート。

The first feature-length animated film by Spanish director Pablo Berger, known for 'Blancanieves.' Based on the graphic novel of the same name by American author Sara Varon, it depicts the friendship between a dog and a robot in 1980s New York, where anthropomorphic animals live, entirely without dialogue or narration. In Manhattan, New York. Dog, deeply lonely, builds a robot to be his friend, and they deepen their bond. In summer, Dog and Robot go to the beach, but Robot rusts and becomes immobile. Dog tries everything to repair Robot, but the beach closes for the off-season with Robot left behind, and the two are separated. Nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 96th Academy Awards in 2024.
