「ハッピーアワー」「寝ても覚めても」の濱口竜介監督初の短編オムニバス。2021年・第71回ベルリン国際映画祭コンペティション部門に出品され、銀熊賞（審査員グランプリ）を受賞した。親友が「いま気になっている」と話題にした男が、2年前に別れた元カレだったと気づく「魔法（よりもっと不確か）」。50代にして芥川賞を受賞した大学教授に落第させられた男子学生が逆恨みから彼を陥れようと、女子学生を彼の研究室を訪ねさせる「扉は開けたままで」。仙台で20年ぶりに再会した2人の女性が、高校時代の思い出話に花を咲かせながら、現在の置かれた環境の違いから会話が次第にすれ違っていく「もう一度」。それぞれ「偶然」と「想像」という共通のテーマを持ちながら、異なる3編の物語から構成される。

Trivial love talk between best friends, a student seeking guidance from a professor, female friends reuniting after 20 years... A first 'short story collection' woven from three tales themed around 'coincidence.' With a small production system ensuring ample rehearsal and shooting time, it carefully captures the actors' light yet delicate expressions. Won the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival.
