A sci-fi suspense film starring Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, and Jude Law. In a near future where 'valids' born through genetic engineering dominate society, Vincent, born naturally, lives a life of discrimination as an 'invalid.' He has dreamed of becoming an astronaut since childhood, but it is a profession only permitted for valids. One day, through a DNA broker, Vincent purchases the valid identity of Jerome, a former swimmer now paralyzed from the waist down. Posing as Jerome, Vincent joins the space corporation 'Gattaca' and, through sheer effort, is eventually selected as an astronaut for a Titan exploration mission, but... This is the directorial and screenwriting debut of Andrew Niccol.
