ポーランドにおけるディストピアSFの先駆者ピョトル・シュルキン監督が、1970年代末～80年代の社会主義体制時代に当局の厳しい検閲をくぐり抜けながら制作した暗黒SF4作品のうちの1作。 人類進化のために作られたクローン人間の厳しい現実を、強烈な風刺と超現実主義の極致ともいえる作風で描き出す。殺人容疑で逮捕された男が警察から取り調べを受けるが、彼は犯罪の詳細どころか自分の人生さえ思い出すことができない。やがて彼は、狂人や錯乱した歯科医、殺人的な医師、そして鋳鉄製のオーブンの壁の中に人間創造の秘密があると信じる科学者たちの世界に戻される。自分は何者なのか、人間とは何かを知ろうとする男の旅は、彼ら全員と交差していく。 日本では2026年開催の特集上映企画「ポーランド暗黒SF≪文明の終焉4部作≫」（26年2月21日〜、シアター・イメージフォーラム）にて劇場初公開。
One of four dark sci-fi works by Piotr Szulkin, a pioneer of Polish dystopian cinema, produced while navigating the strict censorship of the socialist regime during the late 1970s and 1980s. The film depicts the harsh reality of clones created for human evolution through a style that represents the pinnacle of sharp satire and surrealism. A man arrested on suspicion of murder is interrogated by the police, but he cannot recall the details of the crime or even his own life. He is eventually returned to a world of madmen, deranged dentists, murderous doctors, and scientists who believe the secret of human creation lies within the walls of a cast-iron oven. The man’s journey to discover who he is and what it means to be human intersects with them all. The film will receive its Japanese theatrical premiere in 2026 as part of the special retrospective "Polish Dark Sci-Fi: The Apocalypse Tetralogy" (opening February 21, 2026, at Theater Image Forum).
