「Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus」の空音央監督が長編劇映画初メガホンをとり、ありうるかもしれない未来を舞台に、友情の危うさを独特のサウンドとエモーショナルな映像美で描いた青春映画。 XX年後の日本。幼なじみで親友のユウタとコウは、仲間たちと音楽を聴いたり悪ふざけをしたりしながら毎日を過ごしていた。高校3年生のある夜、こっそり忍び込んだ学校で、ユウタはとんでもないイタズラを思いつく。翌日、そのイタズラを発見した校長は激怒し、生徒を監視するAIシステムを学校に導入する騒ぎにまで発展。この出来事をきっかけに、大学進学を控えるコウは自身の将来やアイデンティティーについて深く考えるようになり、今まで通り楽しいことだけをしたいユウタとの間に溝が生じ始める。 ともにオーディションで抜てきされ本作がスクリーンデビューとなる栗原颯人と日高由起刀が主人公ユウタとコウをそれぞれ演じ、「ロストサマー」の林裕太、「サマーフィルムにのって」の祷キララが共演。2024年・第81回ベネチア国際映画祭オリゾンティ・コンペティション部門出品作品。

Directed by Neo Sora, known for "Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus," in his feature fiction film debut, this youth film depicts the precariousness of friendship in a possible future, using unique sound and emotional visual beauty. In Japan, XX years from now. Yuta and Ko, childhood best friends, spend their days listening to music and goofing around with their friends. One night in their senior year of high school, they sneak into school, and Yuta comes up with a crazy prank. The next day, the principal, enraged upon discovering the prank, escalates the situation by introducing an AI surveillance system into the school. This event prompts Ko, who is about to go to university, to think deeply about his future and identity, creating a rift between him and Yuta, who just wants to keep having fun. Sōta Kurihara and Yukito Hidaka, both cast through auditions and making their screen debuts, play the protagonists Yuta and Ko respectively. Yūta Hayashi from "Lost Summer" and Kirara Inori from "Summer Film ni Notte" co-star. The film was screened in the Orizzonti Competition section at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in 2024.
