当時、「女らしく生きるより、私を生きたい」という田中の思いに多くの女たちが共感し、ウーマン・リブ運動が日本各地に沸き起こった。「モテない女のひがみ」と嘲笑してくる男マスコミに、「女の生き難さの中にリブが息づいているだけだ！」と、1歩も引かなかった女たち。リブは、田中にとって1対多数の世界だった。今は、鍼灸師として患者と1対1で向き合う田中は、「私の中にその人の居場所があるし、その人の中にも私の居場所がある」、と。
