The eccentric genius Yorgos Lanthimos, known for 'Poor Things' and 'The Favourite', directs this kidnapping suspense film starring Emma Stone in their fifth collaboration. Ari Aster, director of 'Welcome to Eddington' and 'Midsommar', serves as producer. It is a remake of the 2003 Korean film 'Save the Green Planet!'. Michelle, the charismatic CEO of a globally renowned pharmaceutical company, is kidnapped by Teddy, a conspiracy theorist who firmly believes she is an alien set on invading Earth, and his devoted cousin Don. They imprison her in a basement and demand she abandon her plans for Earth. Michelle dismisses their absurd demands and tries to talk her way out, but the tug-of-war takes unexpected turns. As Teddy's hidden past comes to light, the absurd kidnapping plot veers in unforeseen directions. Emma Stone appears with a shaved head, passionately playing Michelle. Jesse Plemons and newcomer Aiden Delvis, cast through auditions, play the two kidnappers. The film was presented in the competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in 2025 and was nominated for four Academy Awards at the 98th ceremony, including Best Picture and Best Actress.
