1930s Hong Kong. Yufa, a courtesan at a brothel, falls in love with Chan, the son of a respectable family. However, Chan's parents would never approve of a relationship between two people of such different social standing, and the tormented Yufa makes a pact with Chan to make their love eternal and attempts a double suicide. Fifty years later in Hong Kong. Yufa suddenly appears before newspaper reporter Yun as a ghost, asking him to place an advertisement to find Chan, whom she could not meet in the afterlife. Taking pity on Yufa, Yun begins searching for Chan together with his girlfriend Cho, but an unexpected truth awaits them...
