1960年代の神戸を舞台に、日本で生まれたベルギー人の女の子アメリの成長を描いたアニメーション映画。ベルギーの小説家アメリー・ノートンによる自伝的小説「チューブな形而上学」を原作に、2歳の主人公アメリから見た生命と色彩、そしてウィットに富んだ彼女の言葉が織りなす情感豊かな世界を描き出す。 1960年代、神戸。外交官の家に生まれたベルギー人の女の子アメリは、2歳半までは無反応状態だったが、あるきっかけから無敵の子ども時代に突入し、自らを「神」だと信じて魔法のような世界を生きるようになる。大好きな家政婦のニシオさんや家族と過ごす日々は、彼女にとって冒険であり、新たな発見に満ちていた。ある日彼女は、自分にぴったりな「雨」という漢字を知る。そして3歳の誕生日、彼女のすべてを変えてしまう出来事が起こる。 「ロング・ウェイ・ノース　地球のてっぺん」などに参加したマイリス・バラードとリアン＝チョー・ハンが監督を務め、日本人作曲家・福原まりが音楽を手がけた。2025年アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭で観客賞を受賞。第98回アカデミー賞でも長編アニメーション部門にノミネートされた。

An animated film set in 1960s Kobe, depicting the growth of Amélie, a Belgian girl born in Japan. Based on the autobiographical novel "Tube Metaphysics" by Belgian writer Amélie Nothomb, it portrays a world rich in emotion, seen through the eyes of the two-year-old protagonist Amélie, woven with life, color, and her witty words. In 1960s Kobe, Amélie, a Belgian girl born into a diplomat's family, is unresponsive until age two and a half, but then enters an invincible childhood, believing herself to be a god and living in a magical world. Her days with her beloved housekeeper Nishio and her family are adventures full of new discoveries. One day, she learns the kanji for "rain," which suits her perfectly. Then, on her third birthday, an event occurs that changes everything. Directed by Myriam Ballard and Liang-Cho Han, who worked on "Long Way North," with music by Japanese composer Mari Fukuhara. It won the Audience Award at the 2025 Annecy International Animated Film Festival and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 98th Academy Awards.
