杉谷庄吾【人間プラモ】の同名コミックを劇場アニメ化。大物映画プロデューサーの孫で自身もその才能を受け継いだポンポさんのもとで、製作アシスタントを務める映画通の青年ジーン。映画を撮ることに憧れながらも自分には無理だと諦めかけていたが、ポンポさんに15秒CMの制作を任され、映画づくりの楽しさを知る。ある日、ジーンはポンポさんから新作映画「MEISTER」の脚本を渡される。伝説の俳優マーティンの復帰作でもあるその映画に監督として指名されたのは、なんとジーンだった。ポンポさんの目にとまった新人女優ナタリーをヒロインに迎え、波乱万丈の撮影がスタートするが……。「渇き。」の清水尋也が主人公ジーン役で声優に初挑戦。新人女優ナタリーを「犬鳴村」の大谷凜香、ポンポさんをテレビアニメ「スター☆トゥインクルプリキュア」の声優・小原好美がそれぞれ演じる。監督・脚本は「魔女っこ姉妹のヨヨとネネ」「劇場版『空の境界』第五章　矛盾螺旋」の平尾隆之。

A theatrical anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Sugitani Shōgo [Ningen Puramo]. Jean is a movie-loving young man who works as a production assistant under Pompo, the granddaughter of a legendary film producer who inherited his talent. Though he dreams of making films, he had nearly given up, believing he couldn't do it—until Pompo entrusts him with directing a 15-second commercial, and he discovers the joy of filmmaking. One day, Pompo hands Jean the script for a new film called "MEISTER." The film is also the comeback vehicle for legendary actor Martin, and Jean is unexpectedly appointed as its director. With newcomer actress Natalie—who caught Pompo's eye—cast as the heroine, the tumultuous production begins... Shimizu Hiroya ("Thirst") makes his voice-acting debut as the protagonist Jean. Ōtani Rinka ("Howling Village") plays the newcomer actress Natalie, and voice actress Kohara Konomi (TV anime "Star☆Twinkle Precure") plays Pompo. The director and screenwriter is Hirao Takayuki ("Yoyo and Nene, the Little Witch Sisters," "The Garden of Sinners Chapter 5: Paradox Spiral").
