ヌーボー・シネマ・スイスの旗手として知られる名匠フレディ・M・ムーラーが1985年に発表し、ロカルノ国際映画祭でグランプリにあたる金豹賞を受賞した作品。 アルプスの雄大な自然に囲まれた地で、ほぼ自給自足の生活を送る4人家族。10代半ばのろう唖の弟は、その不自由さに時にいらだちながらも、両親や姉の愛情を受けて健やかに育つ。ある日、故障した草刈り機に腹を立てた弟は、それを投げ捨てて父の怒りを買ってしまう。家を飛び出した彼は、山小屋で1人で暮らし始める。姉はそんな弟を心配して食料などを届け、2人は山頂で焚火を囲みながら楽しい時間を過ごす。やがて、姉の妊娠が発覚し……。 日本では1986年に劇場初公開。2020年2月には、デジタルリマスター版でリバイバル公開された。

A 1985 film by the master Fredi M. Murer, known as a pioneer of New Swiss Cinema, which won the Golden Leopard, the top prize at the Locarno International Film Festival. A family of four lives a nearly self-sufficient life surrounded by the majestic Alps. The teenage younger brother, who is deaf-mute, grows up healthily, sometimes frustrated by his disability but loved by his parents and older sister. One day, angered by a broken lawnmower, he throws it away, incurring his father's wrath. Running away from home, he begins living alone in a mountain hut. His worried sister brings him food, and they spend happy times together around a campfire on the mountain peak. Eventually, the sister's pregnancy is discovered... The film was first released in Japanese theaters in 1986. A digitally remastered version was revived in February 2020.
