エリック・ロメール監督による「喜劇と格言劇」シリーズの第6作。パリ郊外のニュータウンを舞台に、4人の男女が繰り広げる恋愛模様を軽快なタッチで描く。市役所で働く内気な女性ブランシュと現実主義の女子学生レアは、ふとしたことから意気投合し友だちになる。レアは恋人ファビアンと一緒に暮らしているが、2人の関係は上手くいっていない。一方、ブランシュはファビアンの友人であるプレイボーイのアレクサンドルに恋心を抱くが、恋に臆病な彼女は自分の気持ちを言い出せない。やがて、ファビアンはブランシュに惹かれるようになり……。カラフルな80年代ファッションにも注目。

The sixth film in Éric Rohmer's "Comedies and Proverbs" series. Set in a new town on the outskirts of Paris, it lightly depicts the romantic affairs of four men and women. Blanche, a shy woman working at city hall, and Léa, a pragmatic female student, hit it off and become friends. Léa lives with her boyfriend Fabien, but their relationship isn't going well. Meanwhile, Blanche develops feelings for Alexandre, a playboy and friend of Fabien's, but her timid nature prevents her from confessing. Eventually, Fabien finds himself drawn to Blanche... The colorful 1980s fashion is also a highlight.
