人気アイドルアニメ「アイカツ！」に続くシリーズ新作として2016年4月から放送開始のテレビアニメ「アイカツスターズ！」の劇場版。アイドル界のトップを目指すため四ツ星学園に入学した主人公・虹野ゆめをはじめとした少女たちの奮闘を描く。「アイカツスターズ！」初の劇場版となる今作では、イベント出演のためにやってきた南の島が舞台。島に眠ると噂される「伝説のドレス」をめぐる物語が描かれ、ゆめと桜庭ローラの友情や、学園の4人組トップアイドル「S4」が揃い踏みしてステージに立つ姿も描かれる。短編「アイカツ！　ねらわれた魔法のアイカツ！カード」が同時上映。

The theatrical film of the TV anime 'Aikatsu Stars!', which began airing in April 2016 as a new series following the popular idol anime 'Aikatsu!'. It depicts the struggles of girls, including the protagonist Yume Nijino, who enrolls at Yotsusei Gakuen aiming to become the top idol. In this first theatrical film of 'Aikatsu Stars!', the story is set on a southern island where the characters come for an event. It revolves around the rumored 'Legendary Dress' said to be sleeping on the island, and depicts the friendship between Yume and Laura Sakuraba, as well as the school's top four-idol unit 'S4' taking the stage together. The short film 'Aikatsu! The Targeted Magical Aikatsu! Card' is shown simultaneously.
