2人の無口な中年男と2人の外国人女性の奇妙な旅を、アキ・カウリスマキ監督独特のタッチで描いたロードムービー。60年代フィンランド。コーヒー中毒の仕立て屋バルトと、彼の友人でロックンローラー気取りの修理工レイノは、退屈な田舎町を捨てて旅に出る。途中出会ったエストニア人とロシア人の女性2人組を港まで送ることになるが、彼らは会話することもなく、ただひたすら旅を続ける。そしてついに港に到着した4人は……。

Finland in the 1960s. Valto, a coffee-addicted tailor, sets out on a aimless car trip with his mechanic friend Reino. At a bar they stop at along the way, Valto and Reino meet two foreign women, Tatiana and Claudia, and decide to take the two of them to the port.
