The Black House
Director Morita Yoshimitsu, known for '39 Criminal Law Article 39,' adapts the novel of the same name by Kishi Yusuke, which won the 4th Japan Horror Novel Award. Wakatsuki Shinji, who works at an insurance company, encounters the hanged body of a woman's son when he visits her home to explain insurance payouts. The police rule it a suicide, and the insurance money is paid out accordingly. However, sensing something suspicious in the parents' attitude, Wakatsuki begins his own investigation, doubting the suicide verdict. Gradually, the couple's abnormal behavior concerning the insurance money comes to light.
