「クー嶺街（クーリンチェ）少年殺人事件」「ヤンヤン　夏の想い出」などで知られる台湾の名匠エドワード・ヤンが1994年に手がけた青春群像劇。 急速な西洋化と経済発展が進む1990年代前半の台北。企業を経営するモーリーは、自分の会社の経営状況も、婚約者アキンとの仲も上手くいかずにいる。モーリーの会社で働く親友チチは、モーリーの仕事ぶりに振り回され、恋人ミンとはケンカが絶えない。そんなモーリーとチチの2人を中心に、同級生・恋人・同僚など10人の男女が2日半という時間の中で織りなす人間模様を描き、心に空虚感を抱える彼らが自らの求めるものを見いだしていく姿を映し出す。 1994年の金馬奨で脚本賞・助演男優賞・助演女優賞を受賞し、第47回カンヌ国際映画祭にも正式出品。第79回ベネチア国際映画祭にてワールドプレミア上映された4Kレストア版で2023年にリバイバル公開。

A youth ensemble drama from 1994 by the renowned Taiwanese master Edward Yang, known for "A Brighter Summer Day" and "Yi Yi." Set in Taipei in the early 1990s, amidst rapid Westernization and economic development. Molly, who runs a business, is struggling both with her company's finances and her relationship with her fiancé Akin. Qiqi, Molly's friend who works at her company, is at the mercy of Molly's work habits and constantly fights with her boyfriend Ming. Centering on Molly and Qiqi, the film depicts the intertwining lives of ten men and women—classmates, lovers, and colleagues—over the course of two and a half days, showing them searching for what they truly seek amidst their inner emptiness. The film won awards for Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress at the 1994 Golden Horse Awards and was officially selected for the 47th Cannes Film Festival. A 4K restoration premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival and was revived in theaters in 2023.
