日本とミャンマーを舞台に、ある在日ミャンマー人家族に起こった実話をベースに描いたドラマ。東京にある小さなアパートに暮らすケインと幼い2人の息子たち。夫のアイセが入国管理局に捕まってしまったため、ケインは1人で家庭を支えていた。日本で育ったため、母国語が話せない子どもたちに、ケインは不慣れな日本語で精いっぱいの愛情を注いでいたが、兄弟は父親に会えないストレスからケンカを繰り返す毎日。そんな日常から、今後の生活に不安を抱くようになったケインは、生まれ育ったミャンマーへ帰りたいという思いが募っていく。監督は本作が長編デビュー作となる藤元明緒。2017年・第30回東京国際映画祭「アジアの未来」部門に出品され、同部門の作品賞および国際交流基金アジアセンター特別賞の2つの賞を受賞した。

Set in Japan and Myanmar, this drama is based on a true story about a Myanmar family living in Japan. Kane lives in a small Tokyo apartment with her two young sons. After her husband Aise is detained by immigration authorities, Kane must support the family alone. Since her children grew up in Japan and cannot speak their native language, Kane pours all her love into them using her imperfect Japanese, but the brothers, stressed by their father's absence, fight daily. Growing anxious about their future, Kane increasingly longs to return to Myanmar, where she was born and raised. This is director Akiro Fujimoto's feature-length debut. The film was screened in the 'Asian Future' section of the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival in 2017, where it won both the section's Best Picture Award and the Japan Foundation Asia Center Special Prize.
