ドイツで撮影されたドタバタ爆笑コメディ。コカコーラ社のベルリン支社長を務めるマクナマラは、本社の重役から娘のおもりを頼まれる。だが、この娘は一筋縄ではいかない厄介者だった。出世のためなら……という主人公心理は、ビリー・ワイルダーの前作「アパートの鍵貸します」にも共通する。息つく間もなくギャグが応酬される台詞まわしは、ワイルダーならでは。監督業もならしたジェームズ・ギャグニーの喜劇役者としての魅力も全開である。

A slapstick comedy filmed in Germany. McNamara, the head of Coca-Cola's Berlin branch, is tasked by a company executive with babysitting his daughter. However, this girl is a troublesome handful who defies easy handling. The protagonist's mindset of doing anything for career advancement echoes Billy Wilder's previous film "The Apartment." The rapid-fire exchange of gags in the dialogue is quintessentially Wilder. The film also showcases the full comedic charm of James Cagney, who also worked as a director.
