Khaled, a young man who fled his homeland Syria as the civil war intensified, searches for his separated sister and accidentally ends up in Helsinki, the capital of Finland in Northern Europe. Having lost everything in the airstrikes, his only hope now is to find his sister. Perhaps due to the refugee crisis troubling Europe, Khaled is exposed to discrimination and violence in this city as well, but restaurant owner Wikström extends a helping hand and hires him at his restaurant. Wikström himself is also trying to start his life over after abandoning a past in which he had reached a dead end. The two, each searching for their own future, eventually become 'family,' and a light of hope begins to shine on their lives...
