「抵抗（レジスタンス）　死刑囚の手記より」「少女ムシェット」などの名作を残したフランスの名匠ロベール・ブレッソン監督の長編第13作。撮影時すでに80歳を超えていたブレッソンは1999年に他界し、本作が遺作となった。 原作はロシアの文豪トルストイの中編小説「にせ利札」。偶然手にしてしまった偽札を、そうとは知らずに使ってしまったことから、一家惨殺事件を引き起こし転落していく人生を歩む燃料配達人の青年イヴォンの姿を描いた。タイトルの「ラルジャン（L'argent）」は、フランス語でお金の意味。 1986年に日本初公開。2011年に、ブレッソンの名作をニュープリントで上映する「映画の國名作選III ロベール・ブレッソンの芸術」にてリバイバル。2026年には、ブレッソンの名作をレストア版で上映する「ロベール・ブレッソン傑作選」にて、2Kレストア版でリバイバル公開。

The 13th feature film by French master director Robert Bresson, who left behind masterpieces such as "Resistance: From the Prisoner's Diary" and "Mouchette." Bresson, already over 80 at the time of filming, passed away in 1999, making this his final work. Based on the novella "The Forged Coupon" by Russian literary giant Leo Tolstoy, it depicts the life of Yvon, a young fuel delivery man who, after unknowingly using a counterfeit bill that falls into his hands, triggers a family massacre and spirals downward. The title "L'argent" means "money" in French. First released in Japan in 1986. Revived in 2011 as part of "Cinema Masterpiece Selection III: The Art of Robert Bresson" with new prints. In 2026, it will be revived again in a 2K restored version as part of "Robert Bresson Masterpiece Selection."
