Voices from the Waves - Shinchimachi
The second part of the Tohoku documentary trilogy co-directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi and Ko Sakai, 'Voices from the Waves,' set in Shinchi Town. Following the previous work 'Tales from the Waves,' which captured the 'dialogues' of people affected by the tsunami on March 11, 2011, this film records survivors about a year after the disaster as they talk with family, friends, and colleagues about what happened and how they have been since. While the previous film conducted interviews across a wide area from Iwate to Fukushima Prefectures, this installment focuses specifically on Shinchi Town in Soma District, Fukushima Prefecture, recording dialogues among 10 people in 6 groups.
