「PASSION」「THE DEPTHS」で注目を集める新鋭・濱口竜介と「ホームスイートホーム」の酒井耕が共同監督でで手がけた東北記録映画3部作の第1部で、東日本大震災で津波被害を受けた人々の「対話」を集めたドキュメンタリー。岩手県宮古市田老地区から福島県相馬郡新地町まで南下しながら、家族や仲間など親しい者同士が震災とその後について語り合う姿を映し出す。被災地の悲惨な映像ではなく人々の日常的な対話を捉えることで、そこから生まれる被災者たちの感情をすくい取っていく。

The first installment of the Tohoku documentary trilogy co-directed by Ko Sakai (*Home Sweet Home*) and rising filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi, who garnered acclaim for *PASSION* and *THE DEPTHS*. This documentary gathers the "dialogues" of those affected by the tsunami during the Great East Japan Earthquake. Traveling south from the Taro district of Miyako City in Iwate Prefecture to the town of Shinchi in Fukushima’s Soma District, the film captures family members and friends as they speak with one another about the disaster and its aftermath. By focusing on everyday conversation rather than tragic imagery of the disaster zones, the film distills the raw emotions of the survivors that emerge through their shared words.
