諏訪敦彦や黒沢清に師事し、大学在学中に手がけた初長編「夜来風雨の声」が海外で高い評価を 受けた五十嵐耕平監督の東京藝術大学大学院修了作品。憲法が改正されて国防軍も創設され、東京オリンピックを約2年後に控えた2017年12月30日。ゴミ処理工場に一匹の犬が迷い込む。事務のタニちゃんは犬を探すが見つからない。夜勤を終えたケンはこの日非番のゴウとテレビゲームで遊んでいる。足立さんは帰ろうとせず、ヤナさんは新年の飾り付けに勤しんでいる。工場で働く彼らは、それぞれ同じような問題を抱えていた。妊娠、不倫、家族、戦争で死んだ友達。そんな中、足立さんとの不倫関係に思い悩むタニちゃんだったが、いつしか既に死んだはずの元工場長の父親が、この場所にいるのではないかと感じ始める。

This is the graduation work from Kohei Igarashi's master's program at Tokyo University of the Arts. Igarashi, who studied under Nobuhiro Suwa and Kiyoshi Kurosawa, received high international praise for his first feature film, "The Voice of Wind and Rain," made while he was still a student. It is December 30, 2017, about two years before the Tokyo Olympics, and the constitution has been revised and a National Defense Force established. A stray dog wanders into a garbage processing plant. Tani-chan, who works in the office, searches for the dog but can't find it. Ken, who finished his night shift, plays video games with Go, who is off duty that day. Adachi-san refuses to go home, while Yan-san is busy putting up New Year's decorations. The workers at the plant each grapple with similar problems: pregnancy, infidelity, family, and friends who died in the war. Amidst this, Tani-chan, troubled by her affair with Adachi-san, begins to feel that her late father, the former plant manager, might be present in this place.
