A masterpiece drama depicting the love and conflict between a mentally ill wife and her husband, and one of director John Cassavetes' representative works. Mabel, a housewife, lives with her husband Nick, who works as a foreman on a construction site, and their three children. One night, when Nick is unable to come home due to a sudden problem at work, Mabel, whose mental balance is unstable, begins to behave abnormally... Cassavetes' old friend Peter Falk and his wife Gena Rowlands play the married couple at the center of the story.
