“忘れ去られたヌーベルバーグの名匠”として再評価が進むギイ・ジル監督が1963年に発表した長編デビュー作で、若者たちのはかない愛をつづった自伝的作品。 夏の海辺で愛を確かめ合うジュヌヴィエーヴと水兵ダニエル。しかしバカンスが終わると、彼は港町ブレストへ、彼女はパリへと戻っていく。ふたりは再会を願い、手紙をつづり続ける。そこに、アルジェリア戦争から帰還したもう1人の水兵ギイが加わり、3人の思いは静かに交錯していく。 主演のダニエル・ムースマン、ジュヌビエーブ・テニエに加え、水兵ギイ役でギイ・ジル監督が自ら出演。ジャン＝ピエール・レオ、ジャン＝クロード・ブリアリ、アラン・ドロン、ジュリエット・グレコら名優たちが脇を固めた。ギイ・ジル監督が1959年に手がけた短編「Au biseau des baisers」を気に入った名匠ジャン＝ピエール・メルビルが製作資金の一部を援助した。ロカルノ国際映画祭で批評家賞を受賞。日本では2026年4月に劇場公開。

The 1963 feature debut of Guy Gilles—a director currently being rediscovered as a "forgotten master of the Nouvelle Vague"—is an autobiographical work that captures the fleeting love of youth. On a summer shore, Geneviève and Daniel, a sailor, find love in each other's arms. But when the vacation ends, he returns to the port city of Brest while she goes back to Paris. Hoping for a reunion, they continue to write to one another. Their story expands with the arrival of Guy, another sailor returning from the Algerian War, as the paths and emotions of the three quietly interweave. Starring Daniel Moosmann and Geneviève Thénier, the film also features director Guy Gilles himself as the sailor Guy, with a supporting cast of legendary actors including Jean-Pierre Léaud, Jean-Claude Brialy, Alain Delon, and Juliette Gréco. Impressed by Gilles’ 1959 short *Au biseau des baisers*, the master Jean-Pierre Melville provided partial funding for the film. A winner of the Critics’ Prize at the Locarno Film Festival, it will be released in Japanese theaters in April 2026.
